for four months on their own by creating an artwork.
The artwork must fit specific criteria.
They will go to UW Stevens Point for regional competition working both individually
and as a team. The goal is to move
on to state competition in Madison.

Students interested in working for tolerance and acceptance of diversity in human
beings at HHS, the school district and in the wider community. This is a grass roots
group started in the winter of 2001 with goals of making people more aware of the
diversity of our district/community and encouraging tolerant behavior and language
toward that diversity. Our mission
includes outreach activities both within the school, district and toward the community. “Drop in” meetings may be held on Tuesdays.

Three week travel/educational trip to German partner school when school year ends. Attend German school, stay with host
family, tour with group. Host German partner student during their stay in Hortonville

Designed to give students a better idea of how the legal system works by requiring
them to put together a legal case proposed by the Wisconsin Bar Association, the
governing board for lawyers practicing in the state.
Participation requires students interested in acting as lawyers and/or witnesses. Team members work together to prepare
questions for witnesses, opening and closing arguments and questions for cross examination
of their “opponents” witnesses. The
district competition is held in February at the Outagamie County Courthouse. If the team wins district competition,
it then competes in Regional and State competitions.
Late October—February. Preparation
after school may be necessary.

This is a travel program to Mexico, Spain, Costa Rica and Peru.
Students will experience first-hand the people, places and culture of the
country as well as utilize and enhance their skills in Spanish.
Participants will stay with a family, learn how they live, use Spanish, visit
famous sites, and, in some programs, even attend classes.
The trip is usually during Spring Break week.
